About the Role:

The Technical Support Engineer (L2-L5) is a senior technical support role in Cohesity’s support organization, based in their Bangalore support center. The engineer will work directly with customers to resolve technical issues while collaborating with internal teams. This role suits individuals who are technically skilled, have excellent communication abilities, and possess a strong customer service orientation.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Cohesity customers to resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot issues using available tools.
  • Document customer interactions, investigations, troubleshooting processes, and issue resolutions.
  • Collaborate closely with Cohesity engineering and account management teams.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment in choosing methods and techniques for problem-solving.
  • Provide excellent customer experience throughout the support process.
  • Manage workload efficiently to ensure timely resolution of all customer issues.
  • Develop reusable self-service solutions for recurring issues.
  • Contribute to the knowledge base by developing technical articles.
  • Mentor other engineers within the team.

Key Technical Skills:

Linux, system administration, system diagnostics, systemtap, tcpdump, ftrace, strace, wireshark, gdb, crash, NFS, SMB (CIFS), virtualization, data protection, storage technologies, VMware, CommVault, Symantec, EMC, NetApp

Requirements:

  • 3-12 years of experience in storage, networking, and virtualization environments.
  • Strong understanding of Linux with hands-on administration experience.
  • Ability to analyze system diagnostics and communicate issues clearly to customers.
  • Proficiency with Linux debugging tools like systemtap, tcpdump, ftrace, strace, wireshark, gdb, and crash.
  • Knowledge of remote file access protocols, including NFS and SMB (CIFS).
  • Experience with storage concepts, virtualization, and data protection technologies such as VMware, CommVault, Symantec, EMC, and NetApp.

In-Office Expectations:
